Mrs. Caroline Kurdelmeier, the daughter of John Ihde and his wife Anna Thoma was born February 01, 1880, at Garnavillo, Iowa, and died at the home of her daughter (Cora) Mrs. Charles Wagner in Giard township, Clayton county, Iowa, August 27, 1957 at the age of 77 years, six months and 26 days.
On October 11, 1900, Mrs. Kurdelmeier was united in marriage to George Kurdelmeier at Garnavillo, Iowa. Five children were born to this union. One son Arno preceded his mother in death.
The surviving children are: (Charlotte) Mrs. Wyman Whittle of Monona, William Kurdelmeier of St. Olaf, (Cora) Mrs. Charles Wagner of Farmersburg, (Roselyn) Mrs. Donald Liddy of Littleport.
Mrs. Kurdelmeier had an affliction for the past twenty-five years and was confined to the home of her daughter during that time. Mrs. Kurdelmeier was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Garnavillo, and before her sickness attended Zion Lutheran church at Clayton Center.
The death of the deceased is mourned by the afore-named children and two brothers: Ben and John Ihde of St. Olaf and a sister, Amanda, Mrs. Myrel Stocks of Strawberry Point. Also five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 31, at Peace Evangelical church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial at Monona.
