MONONA: Funeral services for the Rev. William Charles Drahn, 77, of Savannah, Ga., were held Sunday, July 14, at 1:45 p.m., at the Schultz funeral home and at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. The Rev. R. C. Schlueter officiated.
The Rev. Mr. Drahn was born in Farmersburg township March 07, 1880, a son of Henry and Caroline Aulerich Drahn, and died at Savannah, Ga., July 07.
After attending a preparatory course for the ministry at Wartburg college in Clinton he studied for four years at Wartburg seminary in Dubuque, and for two years in Chicago. He was then ordained to the ministry and from 1922 to 1933 at Denver, Colo.
From 1934 until he retired in 1955, he was a field man for the Minister's Casualty Insurance company of Minneapolis, Minn. After retiring he moved to Savanah, Ga.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Henry Drahn, two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Larson and Mrs. William Vulgraf.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Hopkins, Little Rock, Ark., and Mrs. Ward B. Fleming, Colchester, Ill.; two sons, Oliver W., Oshkosh, Wis., and Richard, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Gust (Emma) Krahn, Pasadena, Calif.; one brother, Fred, Monona; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Music at the services was provided by Miss Sandra Schultz, soloist, and Mrs. George Heins Jr., organist.
Pallbearers were: Glender, Walter, Erwin, Elmer, Elva and Leslie Drahn, and William Vullgraf.
Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.
