Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph (Peryl Tarbox) Newcomer of Arlington, Va., were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Methodist church in Strawberry Point. Burial was at the Strawberry Point cemetery with the Rev. Robert L. Smith in charge of services.
Peryl Tarbox Newcomer was born Sept. 14, 1894, at Strawberry Point, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Stansfield) Tarbox. She graduated from the Strawberry Point high school and on August 20, 1913, was married to Ralph C. Newcomer. Following their marriage they moved to North Dakota, where they lived for 38 years until in 1951, they moved to Washington, D.C. She worked for many years as a sales clerk in a department store. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star and the Past Matrons organization, and was a member of the Queen Esther Chapter at Mandan, N.Dak. Her hobbies were traveling and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Tarbox, and survivors include her mother, Mrs. Mary Tarbox of Strawberry Point, her husband, Ralph C. Newcomer of Arlington, Va., one brother Percy of Strawberry Point and a brother Donald of Bismark, N.Dak.
