Mrs. Clara Amelia Larson, nee Leibrand, was born in Dubuque County, Iowa, on Oct. 27, 1885. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Christian Faith, and she remained an active and faithful member of the Lutheran church until her death.

On Oct. 21, 190_, Miss Clara Leibrand and Frederick Larson were united in marriage in the Swedish Lutheran church near McGregor. Their marriage was blessed with five children: namely, Lucille, Ruth, Glen, and twin boys, who died in infancy.

From the time of her marriage until 1940, Mrs. Larson lived with her husband and family in various communities in Clayton county. In 1940, the deceased and her family moved to Garnavillo, where she made her home until her illness. For the past several months, and at the time of her death, she was with her daughter, Mrs. Howard Hockett, in Manchester.

Mrs. Larson died at 5:45 o'clock, Saturday evening, June 29 1957, at the age of seventy-one years, eight months, and two days.

In addition to the twin boys already mentioned, Mrs. Larson was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 05, 1954. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard Hockett of Manchester, and Ruth Larson of Waterloo; one son, Glen Larson, Manchester; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Hultgren, Evanston, Ill.; Mrs. Viola Swedeberg, Wayburn, Saskatchewan, Canada; two brothers, Wm. Leibrand, Cedar Rapids; Martin Leibrand, Scoby, Montana; one grandson, and numerous relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 02, 1957, in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, Garnavillo. Interment was at the Swedish Lutheran church cemetery, near McGregor. The Rev. L. C. Urlaub officiated.
