A Requiem High Mass was read by the Rev. Father Roth, assistant pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic church at Luxemburg, Saturday, June 22, 1957, at 9:30, for Dean Francis Carnicle of Luxemburg, who was accidentally killed by a tractor while assisting with haying near Millville, Thursday, June 19, at 4:00 p.m.
Dean, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carnicle of Dubuque, was born near Strawberry Point, March 27, 1934, and died at the age of twenty-two years, two months and eight days.
On Aug. 20, 1953, he was married to Lylas Amling of Garber at Dubuque. Two daughters were born to this union, Vicki Jeanette, three years old, and Toni Elaine, eighteen months old.
Dean was employed at the Dubuque packing plant and was on a two weeks' vacation, helping George Harbaugh of Millville with his hay.
Surviving are his wife, Lylas, two daughters, Vicki and Toni of Luxemburg, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Carnicle, three sisters, Mrs. Wm. (Patricia) Ford, Peggy and Dixie, and his grandfather, Ellsworth Carnicle, all of Dubuque.
Burial was in the Hansel cemetery near Garber.
Pallbearers were: Aloyies Welling, Bernard Tapke Jr., James Lake, Merlin Meyers of Luxemburg, Robert Neyeus and Anthony (Tony) Meyers of Dubuque.
