Funeral services for Mrs. David Whetstone, 76, were held at the First Methodist church in Strawberry Point Saturday afternoon, June 08, with the Rev. Wayne L. Carlson officiating. Burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery with the Gill funeral service in charge of arrangements.
Ollie Maude Brandenburg was born on a farm northeast of Strawberry Point on March 11, 1881, the daughter of Clinton and Henrietta Maxwell Brandenburg. She received a rural school education and on Dec. 25, 1902, was married to David Whetstone near Strawberry Point. The couple lived on a farm until they moved to Strawberry Point in 1913 and Mr. Whetstone pursued his trade of carpentering.
Mrs. Whetstone had seemed to be in her usual health until about 12 days before her death, when she was taken to a Manchester hospital, where she died shortly before noon on June 05, from a heart condition.
She is survived by her husband of Strawberry Point; two daughters, Mrs. Clark (Lucinda) Beagle of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Earl (Velma) Sincox of Apple River, Ill.; two granddaughters, Sandra Jane and Kathryn Ann Sincox of Apple River; and a sister, Lucinda We____ of Edgewood. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and one brother who died in infancy.
Mrs. Whetstone was a member of the Methodist church. Her hobbies were gardening and ___________ ___________.
