Funeral services were held Monday morning for Philip Miller, 82-year-old, Boardman township farmer who died suddenly from heart attack on Friday, May 24. Services were conducted from St. Joseph Catholic church with the Rev. Cletus J. Hawes officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery.
He was born, June 09, 1875, on the farm where he died, one and one-half miles north of Elkader and was a son of the late Peter and Josephine Miller. He never married and lived his entire life at the home farm.
For a number of years he was a member of the board of directors of the Central State Bank. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving is one brother, Nicholas Miller, of Elkader.
Pallbearers were: George Schmidt, Louis M. Wagner, Edward Steffen, Joe Brink, Joe Hoover and Fred Hennig.
