Funeral services for Hattie Gertrude Davis, 73, were held at the Gill chapel in Strawberry Point on Thursday afternoon, March 21. The Rev. Wayne L. Carlson conducted the services and burial was in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

Hattie G. Smith was born at Elkader on June 03, 1883, the daughter of Fred and Harriet Tory Smith. On September 12, 1906, she was married to Fred E. Davis at Elkader. She was a member of the Congregational church, the Thimble society and the P.E.O. She had continued to live alone in her home in Strawberry Point following the death of her husband a few years ago. On Sunday, she complained of not feeling well and was taken to the Delaware County Memorial hospital at Manchester, where she died about six o'clock Tuesday evening, March 19.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W. L. (Dorothy) Eidahl of Newton, Iowa; a grandson, Davis Lee Eidahl, also of Newton; a brother, L. D. Smith of Elkader; two nieces and a nephew. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
