Harry Oswald Stake, 58, died at Clear View sanitarium at Davenport, Iowa, Wednesday, March 26. He was the son of Joel Edwin and Maria Julianna (Sarum) Stake.
He was born February 06, 1899, on a farm west of Gunder, Iowa. He moved to a farm east of Gunder with his mother, which was his home until he purchased a farm near Clermont, Iowa, in the fall of 1925. He and his mother made their home there for the past 32 years.
He received his education in a rural school in Marion township, and was baptized and confirmed at the Marion Lutheran church at Gunder. He later became a member of the West Clermont Lutheran church.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1900.
Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Maria Stake, Clermont; one brother, Marvin Stake, St. Olaf; one niece, Mrs. Leon Letchford; three nephews, Lester Staake, Marvin Staake Jr., and Roger Dean Staake. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were Mrs. Leon Letchford, Cedar Falls, and Marvin Staake Jr., Waterloo.
