MONONA: Services for Mrs. Ed. Allert, who died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 02, at the Hanson rest home in Waukon where she had been a patient for several months, were held Tuesday, Feb. 05, from the Schultz funeral home at 1:45 to the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church at 2:00 o'clock. The pastor, the Rev. A. W. Ebert, had charge of the services. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mrs. Allert, the daughter of Louis and Mary Meier Schiff, was born on July 15, 1876, in Giard township. She received her education in the rural schools of the same community. On April 07, 1897, she was married to Ed Allert of Monona. For many years they resided on the farm now occupied by their son, Earl. Later they retired in Monona. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in April 1947.

Mr. Allert preceded his wife in death in May, 1956. Since that time she had made her home with her son until illness made it necessary for her to have special care. Mrs. Allert was a member of the Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethren church for many years and was also a member of the Women's Society of World Service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Orville, her parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Surviving are: her son, Earl; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Trappe of Monona, and Mrs. Martha Welsh of Mason City; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Music for the services was provided by LeRoy Eiffert, soloist, who sang "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." He was accompanied by Mrs. A. W. Ebert.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ed Allert, 80, were held last Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock from the Schultz Funeral home to Pilgrim Evangelical United Brethern church at 2 o'clock with Rev. A.W. Ebert officiating. Burial was in the City cemetery.

Mrs. Allert died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 2, at 1:30 o'clock in the Hanson Rest home at Waukon, where she had been a patient for the last several months. She had been in failing health for the last 16 months.

As Clara Adeline, she was born the daughter of Louis and Mary, nee Meier, Schiff, July 15, 1876, in Giard township. She received her education in the rural school of her home community.

She was married to Ed Allert, April 7, 1897. For many years they lived on the farm north of Monona now occupied by their son, Earl. They later retired to their home in Monona. They were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, April 7, 1947.

Mr. Allert died last May. Since that time, Mrs. Allert had made her home with her son until her illness made it necessary for her to have special care.

Mrs. Allert was a member of the Evangelical United Brethern church for many years and was also a member of the Women's Society of World Service.

Surviving are her son, Earl, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Trappe of Monona and Mrs. Martha Welsh of Mason City; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Merrill Mitchell, Leslie Drahn, Victor and Hilmer Trappe, Wincent Welsh, Burnell and Curtis Schiff, and Clarence Zurcher.

Among those from a distance who attended the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Schiff of Medicine Lodge, Kan.; Mr. and Mrs. Burnell Schiff and Mrs. Martha Welsh of Mason City; Vincent Welsh of Clear Lake; Willard Trappe of Rockwell; Russell Allert of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Klima of Center Point; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kurth and Mrs. Walter Kurth Jr. of Waukon; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Guhl of Olin; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Drahn of Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Mitchell of Cresco; and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Riechman, Mrs. William Riechman, Marie and Elmer Riechman and Mrs. Christine Hamerland of Dubuque.
