Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Oscar Shaw, 77, who was found dead at his home in Pony Hollow Monday morning. Services were conducted from the Witt Chapel at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Paul Kitterer. of the Peace E. and R. church, officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.
Coroner Clifford Pilkington ruled that Shaw's death came from natural causes. Shaw was reported to have visited at the near-by home of his brother, Frank, until about 9 o'clock Sunday evening.
When he failed to appear on Monday morning, his brother found him in bed. He had apparently died in his sleep.
Shaw was born in Indiana, December 17, 1879, and came to Elkader when 15 years old. His active years were devoted to the trade of stone mason. He never married.
Surviving are two brothers, Frank of Elkader and Vern of Lake Odessa, Mich., and three sisters, Mrs. Alva Peterman of Lansing and Mrs. Ollie Meyer and Mrs. Pearl Stendel of Elkader.
