Mrs. Elmira Mason, born in Mendon township, Oct. 12, 1838, died at her home in this city March 12, 1907.
Deceased was the third white child born in this vicinity and has had a long and eventful life. She was united in marriage in 1859 with Martin Luther Mason Three children were the result of this union, and all survive, David F., of Spokane, Abraham M., of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Elmira Belle Reitsma, of Minneapolis.
For many years Mr. and Mrs. Mason lived on a farm up on cemetery hill, but they sold out a few years ago and came to town to spend the remaining years of their life in quiet and comfort. But this rest was not enjoyed long for Mr. Mason passed away in 1905 [sic], and now his wife has joined him.
The funeral was held from her late residence yesterday morning, Rev. V.E. Hall officiating with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
We extend the sympathies of the community to the sorrowing friends.
