Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ferguson were held Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 2 o'clock from the Pilkington funeral home at McGregor, Iowa, with the Rev. Leon Wallace of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the city cemetery in Monona.
Mrs. Ferguson died Monday morning, Jan. 28, at 1:45 at her home in McGregor after an illness of a week.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., moving to Monona during her childhood, where she spent most of her life. She was married to Bert Ferguson at Waukon in 1898.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dayton, one sister and five brothers, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Lotza, Albert, John, Simon, Jake and Tom Moses of Monona.
In addition to her husband she is survived by six children: Ward, Clarence, Fred and George Ferguson of McGregor, Mrs. Keith (Irene) Carlson of Luana, and Mrs. Irvin (Marie) Fehlhafer of Elkader, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth McClure of Malcom, Iowa, and Mrs. Joe (Kate) Tayek, Monona, and one brother, Joe Moses of Norfolk, Nebr., besides a host of relatives and friends.
Music at the service was provided by Mrs. Don Strutt, vocalist, and Mrs. Nettie Coon, organist, of McGregor.
Pallbearers were six grandchildren: Dell Ferguson, Wayne Ferguson, Deane Werger, and Kenneth Lamb of McGregor, Leigh Rekow of Postville, and Bob Dittman of Prairie du Chien, Wis.
