Augusta Cassidy, the daughter of Fred and Doris Heiden, was born Nov. 18, 1877, in Cox Creek township, Clayton county, Iowa, and died at the hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis., Monday, Jan 07, 1957, at the age of seventy-nine years, one month and nineteen days.

Mrs. Cassidy was married to George G. Cassidy on April 19, 1905, at Elkader, Iowa. Since that time she has resided in Elkader.

Mrs. Cassidy had been in failing health for a number of years but was able to be up and around her home until Nov. 06, from which time she grew steadily weaker.

She was a member of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, the Women's Guild of the Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Mrs. Cassidy was preceded in death by her husband in 1952, a son, Wm. H. Dohrer in 1943, her parents, three brothers, August, Fred, and Charles Heiden, and three sisters, Hannah Schoepf, Bertha Cords, and Amelia Heiden.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris, Mrs. George F. Scofield, one sister, Mrs. George Feller, and the following grandchildren: Mrs. Alfred Kramer, Elkader; Wm. J. Dohrer, Jackson Junction; Mrs. Leighton Nelson, and Mary Scofield, Elkader; and seven great-grandchildren, Jerry, Bill, Jimmy and Judy Kramer, Billie Jean Dohrer, Eddie and Elaine Nelson.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. from the Witt chapel, with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wm. Muench, Orville Stannard, Melvin Ahrens, H. M. Wolf, A. W. Mueller, and H. F. Oelberg.

Dohrer, Jackson Junction; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meyer, Mrs. Elizabeth Cassidy, Mrs. Omer Zapf and Marilyn, Garnavillo; Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Cords, Miss Pearl Cords, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dahlstrom, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas, Hinsch, McGregor; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Calourek, Mrs. Floyd Kirkwood and Kathy, Mrs. Frederick Jensen, Sam and Denise, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Fred Cassidy, San Jose, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Arno Oelke, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Probert Sr., Wadena; Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Probert Jr., Farmersburg; Miss Margaret Scofield, Strawberry Point.
