Clayton County Register, 17 Jan. 1957.

Services for Mrs. Mary West were held Monday, Jan. 14, at the Witt chapel with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating, and burial was in the East Side cemetery.

Mary M. West, daughter of Jerome and Marie McKellar Robbins, was born Dec. 18, 1880, in Highland township, and died at Prairie du Chien, Wis., at the age of 76 years and 24 days.

Mrs. West attended the country school and spent her entire life in Clayton county. She and her son Allen lived on a farm six miles west of Elkader.

She was married to John G. West on Dec. 16, 1908.

Mrs. West suffered a light stroke in October 1955, but regained her health. She was taken to a Prairie du Chien hospital by her son Allen on Friday, suffering from a knee ailment, and died unexpectedly a few hours later.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 12, 194_ (looks like 1946 or 1948).

She is survived by two children, Allen and Wilma, Mrs. L. A. Wagner, both of Elkader, and two grandchildren, Anna Marie and John Wagner; also two brothers, Herve Robbins, Elgin, and Malcolm Robbins, Ocean Springs, Miss.
