Funeral services for Mrs. Nora V. Marble were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Blake and Gill Funeral Home to the Methodist church, with the pastor Rev. D. V. Butler in charge. Mrs. Marble died last Monday from a heart attack which she suffered while sitting at the dinner table in her home.

She was born Nora Virn Tenney, daughter of Elisha and Marilla Tenney near Volga on October 07, 1869 and had reached the age of 72 years the day following her death. In 1884 she was married to Frank Davis and a son William was born to this union.

In February, 1891, she married Fremont Marble who preceded her in death in 1900. Two sons: Clair and Lund were born to this union.

When a young girl, Mrs. Marble was baptized in the Christian church, later transferring her membership to the Methodist church where she has always taken an active part and has served in various offices and as assistant teacher. She was a charter member of the Pathfinder class, also a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge.

Besides her husband, one sister preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons: William Davis of Iowa City; Clair and Lund of Volga City.

Her casket bearers were: Henry Jennings, Frank Pillips, William Hoskyn, Frank Oldfather, James Bowles and Oren Walters. Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga.

Among those from out of town who attended the last rites were: Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Shaefer, Central City; Norma Tenney, Reinbeck; LaVon Marble, Elkader; Mrs. Ora Hall and son Glen, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Jellings, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Corbin, Wadena; Mr. and Mrs. Mel Roys, Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. George Jellings, Maynard; Mrs. Ralph Litts, Strawberry Point; Mr. and Mrs. James Bowles, Arlington.
