Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10:00 o'clock at St. Joseph's church for M. J. Poull, who died at his home here at 10:00 o'clock Monday morning following an illness of two weeks.

Mr. Poull came here Nov. 1st, 1899, and together with his brother-in-law, L. M. Bink, under the firm name of Poull and Bink, gave Elkader its first department store.

The store was first located in the building now occupied by Leibrock's store, and later was moved to the present location of the Bink Mercantile Company, successor to Poull and Bink.

Up until four years ago, Mr. Poull was associated with the firm he helped organize, and most of the 42 years were spent here in Elkader, where he built himself a large circle of friends.

He was born on February 19, 1875, and at the time of his death he had reached the age of 66 years, six months and 26 days.

Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, Vincent of Indianapolis, Ind., Gerald of Kansas City, Mo., and Edwin of Chicago. One son, Joseph, preceded his father in death.

Four sisters and three brothers also survive. They are: Mrs. L. M. Bink and Miss Anna Poull, both of Elkader; Mrs. Herbert Johannes, Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Math. L. Sturm, Port Washington, John Poull, Elkader, Nicholas and Peter Poull, both of Port Washingon, Wisconsin.
