Funeral services were held at the home near Osterdock for William D. Brase, Monday afternoon, Sept. 01, with the Rev. S. M. Becker, pastor of St. John's American Lutheran church of Guttenberg, officiating. Burial was made in St. Paul's* cemetery.
William Dietrich Brase was born in Jefferson township, this county, Aug. 18, 1869, and died Aug. 29th, 1941, at Rochester, Minn., where he went for medical treatment. He submitted to an operation on Tuesday, Aug. 19th, but never recovered.
March 16, 1898, he was married to Georganna Doris Endriss of Colesburg. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive. One died in infancy. Those surviving are Paul Brase, Monona; Mrs. Louie Troester, Garnavillo; Mrs. Gust Troester of Guttenberg; Henry and Mrs. Ernie Wolter of Guttenberg; Ernest at home and Mrs. Whitney Amsden of near Garber and 19 grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and friends survive.
