MONONA: John M. Licht, well known pump and windmill repair man, died of a heart attack shortly before noon while working on the windmill platform on the Albert Eggan farm near Cherry Mound. Charles H. Haberichter, who was helping him, held him until he could be lowered to the ground.
Funeral services were held at nine o'clock Saturday morning from St. Mary's Catholic church in McGregor with the Rev. Father J. J. Horsefeld officiating, and burial was made beside his parents in St. Patrick's cemetery in Monona.
The pallbearers were Charles Haberichter, Fred Melcher, Frank Melcher, Dan Donahue, Vencilof Holly and Ira Moon. Honorary pallbearers were Edward C. McAndrew, William Monlux, Dwight C. Newcomb, Ed Girot, Robert W. Garms, Irving Meyer, Ben Meyer, Henry Fox, Dr. B. B. Everall, A. E. Schwab, Dr. Leonard W. Sweatka, Fred Orvis, Alvin Larson, Knudt Stearns, Gus Lenth, Ralph Gartwaite, L. Winslow, William Pohling, Henry Ellenbolt, Tim Eggan, William C. Kruse and Edward Schaeffer.
Mr. Licht was born on a farm near Monona, April 07, 1884, the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. John Licht. After completing school he farmed for a number of years and for the past 20 years was a very efficient pump and repair man. He had been in excellent health all his life.
Surviving him are two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Edward Schaeffer) and Miss Mary M. Licht, who lived with him, and one brother, Frank Licht of Waseca, Minn. He never married but lived with his sister Mary and was a faithful brother. They enjoyed each other's company and took many drives together, living for one another. The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved ones in their great loss.
