Funeral services for Joseph Bonzer, aged 77, were held Saturday afternoon from the home east of Monona with the Rev. H. W. Farnham officiating, and burial was made in the Council Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Jermier, Elmer Wiethorn, Henry Kottman, Henry Kamp, Joseph Tayek and Frank Tayek.
Mr. Bonzer was born on March 04, 1864 in Clayton county, one of the nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Bonzer. In 1902 he was married to Mary Ambrose, who survives him. Although they had no children they made a home for seven nieces and nephews of Mrs. Bonzer. They are Mrs. Frank J. Sudol and Vincent Ambrose of McGregor, Mrs. Ray Grady, Esther and John Ambrose of Monona, Mrs. Agnes Ehlenfeldt of Waterloo and Andrew Ambrose of Camp Claiborne, Louisiana.
Three brothers and one sister also survive him. They are Tom Bonzer of Prairie du Chien, Jacob Bonzer of Albion, Iowa, Peter Bonzer of Nashua and Tillie Love of Charles City. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
