GUTTENBERG: Charles Meyer, Sr., a lifetime resident of Jefferson township died at a local hospital on Sunday evening after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon in St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Harvey Coovert officiating.

There are three daughters - Mrs. Henrietta Meyer of Guttenberg, Mrs. Albert Alt of Clayton, Mrs. Otto Weisner of Zwingle - and five sons - Ewald, Ben, Henry and Charles of Guttenberg and Arthur of Colesburg.

Mr. Meyer would have been 83 years old if he had lived one more day.

Interment was made in the Guttenberg cemetery.
