CLAYTON: The many friends of Mrs. Peter Frye were shocked by her sudden death, which occurred Friday afternoon following a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Lutheran church, and interment made in the Clayton cemetery.
Cecelia Marie Hilger was born in Cassville, Wisconsin, July 02nd, 1871, and died at her home in Clayton, Iowa, June 06th, 1941.
She was united in marriage to Peter R. Frye of Cassville, and to this union six children were born, four of whom survive, Clara (Mrs. Charles Wiedeman) of Monona, and Clarence, John, and Arthur of Clayton. Two children and her husband preceded her in death. Thirteen grandchildren also mourn her departure, together with many other relatives and friends.
She is also survived by two members of her immediate family, Mrs. Mary Von-Gartzen of Corning, Ia., and John P. Hilger of Glen Haven, Wisconsin. Relatives and friends from a distance who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hilgers and Mr. John Hilgers of Glen Haven, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Knudson of Barnveld, Wis., Edward Erickson of Mt. Horeb, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Erickson of Sterling, Illinois.
