The body of Mr. George Friedlein was brought to Guttenberg on Thursday from St. Louis.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. White of Dubuque officiating.
Mr. Friedlein was a former resident of Guttenberg and operated a hardware store in this city.
The last few years he has been living in Missouri.
His widow, eight children, Mrs. Harry Ricketts, Nickolas Friedlein, Mrs. Harry Miner, all of Dubuque, Mrs. Fred Nock, Casoway, West Virginia, August Friedlein, Dell City, Missouri, Miss Mabel and Miss Laura Friedlein of St. Louis, Mrs. John Thames of Fort Smith, Ark., and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Mueller of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Caroline Moser of Osterdock and one brother, Fred Friedlein of Guttenberg, and many other relatives mourn his death.
Interment was made in the Guttenberg cemetery.
Memorial services were held in the Guttenberg cemetery Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock and the Rev. S. M. Becker used for his address, "Casting the Lot."
