HAMLETT, SMOCK, HAMLIN

David Venard Hamlett, 84, a retired electrician who lived in Modesto 15 years, died this morning in a local convalescent hospital following a long illness.

A native of Rushville, Neb. he was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Modesto Central Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Survivors are his widow, Lillian Hamlett, a son, David William Hamlett of Modesto; a sister, Rose Hamlin of Betown, Wis., and four grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in the Williamette National Cemetery, Portland Ore.

Note: Son of John Hamlett and Celia Louisa Smock, he entered service from McGregor & served in U.S. Army, Co. C, 18th Inf.
