Funeral services will be held at the Witt Funeral chapel here tomorrow at two p.m. for Jacob Gerdes, who died in Fairmount, Minn.
Burial will be in the East Side cemetery.

Jacob Gerdes was born at Horsten, Germany, June 02, 1865 and died at a hospital at Fairmont, Minnesota, May 05, 1941 at the age of 75 years, 11 months and three days.
Mr. Gerdes lived in the Elkader community for many years. About thirty years ago he quit farming and made his home with his brother, Michael, at Doon, Iowa. About 1934 he began making his home with his niece, Elsie Patsche, at Fairmont.
While on a visit at Doon, Iowa, he suffered a stroke on March 04, 1941. He recovered sufficiently to return to Fairmont a short time later but his health failed gradually until he was finally given peace from his suffering.
He leaves two sisters: Mrs. H. H. Baseman of Elgin, Ill. and Gesina Gerdes at Glenwood, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, many nephews, nieces and other relatives.
The funeral was held at the Witt funeral home on Thursday, May 08, with the Rev. D. A. Flesner officiating. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery.
