Mrs. Henry Brass died at her home here last Friday, April 11. Though not seriously ill, she had been ailing for the last two years.
As Anna Wagner, the daughter of Peter and Lena Wagner, she was born in Boardman township, this county, June 28, 1865, and she reached the age of 75 years, nine months and 13 days.
June 25, 1922, she was united in marriage with Henry Brass, by Father J. P. Taken here in St. Joseph's church after which she continued to make her home here.
Besides her husband she is survived by two brothers, Peter Wagner of Lake View, Iowa, and John Wagner of Dyersville; and one sister, Mrs. John Tresch of Elkader.
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's church here yesterday morning and burial was made in St. Joseph's cemetery, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. P. Taken officiating.
Casketbearers were: D. F. Willmes, Fred Thillen, Sylvester Thillen, Ed. Steffen, Nic Finnegan and Harley Downe.
Relatives from a distance who attended the services included: Mrs. John Mallinger and daughter of Sigourney, Mrs. G. H. Darrow, Mrs. Frank Fuhrman, Peter Toole and Mrs. Viola Kluske, all of Dubuque; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mertz of Bellevue, Peter Wagner and family of Lake View, Mr. and Mrs. John Wagner of Dyersville, Mrs. Dennis Wagner of Livermore, Zipstein Kramer of Algona and Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Muerer, Wesley.
