Funeral services for Henry K. Opperman were held at the Emanuel's Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. Lawrence A. Stumme. Burial was made in the St. Sebald cemetery.

H. K. Opperman, son of Christian and Minnie Props Opperman, who immigrated from Germany, was born at Darlington, Wis., on Sept. 23, 1859 and died at his home Wednesday afternoon after a few weeks illness. The family remained in Wisconsin until 1867 when they came to Clayton county and made their home on a farm in Cass township. He was the oldest of a family of eight children. On Aug. 23, 1924 he was married to Mary Griesinger. To this union were born five children, four, Anna, Katie, Irvin and Gottlieb died in infancy. In 1919 they retired from the farm and purchased a home in town where he has since lived. Mrs. Opperman died Aug. 23, 1924. Mr. Opperman was married to Mrs. Lena Behrens on October 25, 1928. He is survived by his wife, his son Edgar of Strawberry Point and five grandsons, Reginald, Eugene, Merle, Burnell and Ivan; also two brothers, William D. Opperman of Strawberry Point and John Opperman of Oelwein.
