GARBER: Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 for George William Thein with the Rev. Lloyd Wilson of Westfield, Ind., officiating. Burial was in the Mount Harmony cemetery.
Pallbearers were the five sons, Ernest, Walter, Ivan, Lorraine and Earl, and a son-in-law, Otto Schmeltzer.
Mr. Thein was born near Garber, January 26, 1885, the son of Joseph and Minnie Jauret Thein.
He was married Feb. 05, 1907, to Selma Winch. Seven children were born to this union, five of whom are married, Ernest of Eldorado, Wilhelmina and Ivan of Dubuque, Margaret of Communia, Walter of McGregor, Lorraine at home and Earl of National.
Two sisters preceded him in death, Elsie and Gartrude.
He is survived by his widow, the aforementioned children, six brothers, Frank of New Hampton, Martin and Fred of Garber, Joseph of Lamont, Charles of Strawberry Point and Peter of Elkader, three sisters, Mrs. Marie Jennings and Rebecca Winch of Garber and Mrs. Pearl Smock of Edgewood, also 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
