FARMERSBURG: Ernest Edwaard Haltmeyer, son of John and Barbara Haltmeyer, was born near McGregor, Mendon Township, Iowa, on June 27, 1880. He died at Farmersburg on Tuesday, March 25, 1941. With the exception of a few years spent in Burlington, Iowa, he spent his entire life in this county.
On Feb. 27, 1902, he was united in marriage to Christine Drallmeier. He joined the Methodist church in 1914.
Those who mourn his death are his wife, Mrs. Christine Haltmeyer, Mrs. Clarence Kliefoth of Monona, Ervin Haltmeyer of Postville, Mrs. Walter Blazek of Farmersburg, Mrs. Alice Knudson of St. Olaf. One daughter, Mable, died in 1908 at the age of eight months.
He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. William Linderman, McGregor; Mrs. Emma Moyle, McGregor; and Mrs. Flora Dehn of Clayton. There are eight grandchildren. Besides these he leaves many other relatives and friends.
