Harold Edwin Rogers, son of Edwin Daniel Rogers and Mrs. Florence Rogers was born in Brushcreek, now called Arlington, Iowa, on December 13, 1886. He received his schooling in Arlington and Randalia, Iowa.

In 1905 Harold enlisted in the Marines, in which service he continued for four years. In 1910 at Salt Lake City, Utah he was united in marriage to Adeline Talcot. One daughter, Lorraine, was born of this marriage. Mrs. Rogers died in 1920. In 1927 he married Clara Van Bibber. Two children, Eddie and Zella May were born.

Since 1930 he has resided in Volga, Iowa. After a brief illness he died on the morning of March 20, 1941 at the age of 54 years, three months and seven days. Those who remain are his mother of Volga; one brother, Hardie of Volga; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Foote of Los Angeles and Zella May of Volga, one son Eddie of Volga; also a large number of cousins. Of the last mentioned those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Reman of Randalia, and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde King. There are also many other relatives.

Services were held from the Gill and Blake Funeral Parlor with Rev. Russell Nelson of the Presbyterian church in charge. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Volga City.

The Elkader and Strawberry Point Legion Posts and several local World War veterans took part in the services. Casketbearers were former ex-service men: H. L. Taylor, C. Z. Potter, A. F. Robinson, E. J. Carroll, L. N. Hungerford, William Christeleit.
