GARNAVILLO: Mrs. Maggie Harberg, 90, died at her home here early last Wednesday morning following an illness of two months. She fell and fractured her hip in January and complications resulted in her death.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from St. Paul's church with Rev. A. Meyer officiating.
The deceased was born on December 17, 1850, in Bremen, Ohio, and was brought to Clayton county by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Kuenzel, when she was two years old.
She was married on November 16, 1871, to Fred Harberg, cabinet maker, and they made their home in Garnavillo during their entire life.
Mr. and Mrs. Harberg were both born on the same day and always celebrated their birthdays together.
Mrs. Harberg was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church and was the church's first organist, continuing to be until 1878 or 1879. Mr. Harberg sang bass in the church choir for more than 60 years.
Mr. Harberg died on March 31, 193_, having also fallen and broken his leg.
She is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Clint Carrier of this place.
