Clayton County Register, 19 Feb. 1941. Garnavillo column.

Funeral services were held here Tuesday afternoon from St. Paul's Church for Mrs. Augusta Johanna Milewsky, nee Kirschner, who was born May 17, 1863 in the Province of Saxony, Germany. In that same year she was received into the church of Jesus through the holy rite of Baptism, which was administered in the Lutheran Church. In 1877 she was received into the communicant membership of the Lutheran Church through the rite of Confirmation.

Mrs. Milewsky spent her youth in Germany. At the age of 21 she sailed with her parents to this land, and arrived on these shores on June 05, 1884. With her parents she settled on a farm in Clayton township. She remained with her parents until the age of 25, when she was united in holy wedlock with Mr. Frank J. Milewsky. This union was blessed with 8 children, one of which, Henry, preceded the mother in death last year. The couple first settled on a farm near Clayton and worked the land for a few years until they purchased their own farm just north of Garnavillo. There the couple lived a happy and successful life, and reared their family. In 1922 they retired and moved to Garnavillo in the home which the deceased has, with two of her daughters, occupied ever since. The couple had lived eight years of their retired life together when Mr. Milewsky died in 1930. Since then Mrs. Milewsky has lived a quiet and peaceful life in her home with two daughters, Leona and Laura.

Six weeks ago Mrs. Milewsky suffered a slight stroke which left her right hand limp and useless. An attack of the influenza later, developed into pneumonia. She seemed to be gaining strength at first ' but her heart became weakened and she failed day by day. She received the Holy Supper with two of her daughters and her sister, and on the morning of February 15th, she died quietly at the age of 77 years, 8 (remainder of sentence/paragraph was missing.)

She is survived by: Seven children, Mrs. C. J. Marting of Garnavillo; Mrs. Walter Dettman of Garnavillo; Misses Leona and Laura Milewsky of Garnavillo; Realto Milewsky of McGregor; Edwin Milewsky of Garnavillo; Mrs. Ben Matt of St. Olaf; one sister, Mrs. Henry Suelter of Garnavillo; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.
