DIED - At McGregor, on Wednesday, February 2d, 1870, of Typhoid Pneumonia, Mrs. Rhoda Hickox Powers, relict of Captain Warren Powers of the war of 1812.
The deceased was born in Durham, Conn.,Sept. 10th, 1794. Her age at death was 75 years, 4 months and 22 days. She was married in Malone, N.Y. May 3d, 1816, where she lived until 1862, when she removed to McGregor with her son Henry, whose lamented death occurred here a few years ago.
Mrs. Powers was the mother of six children, three of whom are buried beside their father in Malone. Two are still living, one, our townsman, Wm. J. Powers.
The funeral was preached by Rev. Mr. Wright, at the Cong. Church (Mr. Sloan being absent) and the body of the venerable and most estimable mother was taken to the Pr. du Chien burying ground, to sleep by the grave of her beloved son Henry.
