Note: not a true obit, I've extracted portions of Resolutions passed by National Lodge No. 9, I.O.G.T.

... on the death of Brother Webster Jones, a member of Capt. Drips Co, 27th Reg. Iowa Vol. Infantry, who died at Memphis, Tenn., Jan. 2d, 1863

--- the order has lost an honorary member, his aged Mother a dutiful son, the Church a consistent Christian and his country an ardent patriot and soldier

~North Iowa Times, Wednesday, May 20, 1863, pg 1
----------
Notes:
-1860 U.S. census, Farmersburg twp., P.O. National: Webster Jones, age 23, is enumerated with his mother Anna Jones, age 68, both born Vermont

-His burial place is unknown. He may have been buried in the hospital cemetery where he died, or possibly in the Giard cemetery where there is an illegible gravestone for "unknown Jones" with DOD ca1864
