Died, February 20, 1899, at 8 a.m., Mr. Freedom Jones. Deceased was born April 7, 1823, and at his death was 76 years, 10 months and 13 days old.

At the time of his death he was temporarily staying at Mulhall but his home was in Guthrie. He was buried from Barnes Chapel, this city, at 2 p.m. today, February 21.

The remains of Freedom Jones, who died yesterday at Mulhall, were interred in Summit View cemetery this afternoon, the funeral taking place from Barnes Chapel. Deceased was 76 years old, a Christian and an old soldier. A wife and three grown sons survive him.

Note: Freedom Jones lived in the vicinity of Windsor and Farmersburg in the late 1850s. He was married to (Mrs.) Nancy Ross in Elkader in 1858. They removed to Oklahoma following the war. His gravestone gives the following info.:
