Funeral services for Japheth Ball of Arlington were held in the Arlington Church of Christ Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Hignette. Burial was made in the family lot in the Strawberry Point cemetery.

As a son of Japheth and Elizabeth Ball, he was born in Jo Davies county, Illinois, and died Monday at Arlington. When three years of age he moved with his parents to Strawberry Point, where he lived until about fifty years ago, when he located on a farm near Arlington. On Sept. 25, 1875, he was married to Mary Ellen Hebron. To this union three children were born. Two, Zella and Wilfred, with Mrs. Ball, preceded him in death. One son, William, of Denver, Colo., survives.
