Funeral services for Helen Evelyn Mitchell were held at the Gill funeral home Thursday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. James E. McLain, pastor of the Congregational church. The Pall bearers were Doyle Hulbert, Glen Hulbert, Lorain Pugh, Marvin Smith, Alva Smith, and Eldon Fenton. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
As a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Mitchell, she was born on a farm northeast of Strawberry Point on Dec. 03, 1922, and died Tuesday at the state hospital at Woodward, where she had been for the past six years. Surviving are her parents, two brothers and one sister, Merlin, Kermit, and Irene, and also an aged grandfather, all of Strawberry Point. One brother, Harry, preceded her in death.
