Elkport's Oldest Resident Buried Last Friday.
Mrs. LaSetta Schwiekert, Elkport's oldest resident, died at her home Wednesday morning at 4:00 a.m.; following a two week's illness. Mrs. Schwiekert is 91 years of age.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 in the Elkport Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Mount Harmony cemetery.

Lusetta Ann Walters, daughter of Aaron and Melinda, nee Cooper, Walters, was born September 21, 1849 in Pittsburgh, Penn. In 1854 she came with her parents to Clayton county, Iowa.
In 1870 she was united in marriage to Harry Borrett and to this union three sons were born. After the death of Mr. Borrett, Aug. 26, 1881, she continued to live on their farm near Elkport until her marriage to Jacob Schweikert, Sept. 28, 1884, and to this union two sons and one daughter were born.
In 1905 she and her husband moved to Elkport and continued to make their home there until the death of Mr. Schweikert, Sept. 07, 1935. For several years after his death, she lived alone but for the past year has made her home with her granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph Oldham. As an adult Mrs. Schweikert was baptized by the Rev. F. E. Damm and was for many years a regular attendant at the Lutheran Church in Elkport.
On Dec. 11, of this year she was stricken with a serious illness and lingered for two weeks until her death on Christmas morning when she died at 4:30. She had reached the age of 91 years, 3 months and 4 days.
She leaves to mourn her death her children, Mrs. August Hohman of Elkport, J. E. Schweikert of Guttenberg, Delbert Borrett of Osterdock and Theodore Borrett of Jesup. Two children, Earl Schweikert and Aaron Borrett preceded their mother in death. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Martha Bowman of Guttenberg and a brother Gordon Walters of Garber. Mrs. Schweikert will long be remembered and loved by those who knew her.
