Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Beyer, 78, of Giard, were held at 1:30 Monday afternoon at McGregor. The Rev. E. G. Steinman, pastor of the McGregor Methodist church, officiated and burial was in Elgin. Mrs. Beyer died at her home Saturday after a long illness.

She was born Dec. 21 1869, on a farm near Elkader, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Rohn. After her marriage to August Beyer on Nov. 19, 1892, she lived at Postville and Elgin, and moved to Giard 21 years ago.

Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Art Jensen, Rochester, Minn., Mrs. Ella Markham, Giard, Mrs. Lloyd Clayton, Fairfield, and Mrs. John McCarthy, Minneapolis; two sons, William Beyer, Giard, and Rudolph Beyer, Jeffersonville, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and one sister Mrs. George Ehrhardt, Elkader.
