Funeral services for Mrs. Peter Miller, 78, were held from the McTaggart funeral home at 8:45 o'clock Monday morning, Oct. 11, to St. Joseph's church, Elkader, at 9 o'clock. The Rev. Father Vernon Peters of McGregor officiated at the mass and grave. Burial was in St. Joseph cemetery.
Mrs. Miller died at her home here Friday, Oct. 08. She had been in failing health for several months but was confined to her bed for only a day. Death was due to a heart condition.
Anna Louise Miller was born on a farm in Boardman township Aug. 19, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Losch. She received her education in the schools near her home.
She was united in marriage to Peter Miller April 30, 1891, at Elkader. They continued to live on a farm west of Elkader until seven years ago when they retired and moved to Elkader. They were Privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary seven years ago.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Joseph church, Elkader.
She is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters, namely: Arthur Miller, Dubuque; Dr. Meril Miller, Ossian; Nicholas Miller, Elkader; Mrs. Eldo Meyer, Elkader; and Mrs. Herbert Masuen, Garnavillo. Also one brother, Henry Losch, Elkader.
Pallbearers were: Lavern Meyer, Henry Conners, James Ross, Don Meyer, Walter Okley and John Miller.
There are 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
