Funeral services for Guy E. Walter, 60, were held from the Witt funeral chapel at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 07, to the Zion Lutheran church in Clayton Center at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J. H. Zerhusen officiated. Burial was in the Wagner township cemetery.
Mr. Walter died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Highland township shortly after 4 o'clock Saturday morning, Sept. 04. He had not been ill.
Guy Elmore Walter was born in Wagner township Feb. 26, 1888, the son of George and Leah Radammsa Walter. He received his education in the rural schools near his home. He had lived his entire life in Clayton County in Littleport and Clayton Center and on farms in Highland and Wagner townships.
He was united in marriage to Miss Anna Marie Kamaus at Dubuque, Feb. 23, 1917.
Surviving are his wife and two sons, Elmer LaVerge of Cedar Rapids and Homer George of Waterloo, also one grandchild and a brother Roy Walter of St. Olaf.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a daughter Doris Mae.
Pallbearers were: Charles Glawe, Otto Buchheim, Eldo Johnson, Joseph Hurley, Otto Beyer and Jess Langford.
Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kamaus and family, West Union; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hofer, Elgin; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pisnev, Lime springs; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clynch, Elma, Iowa; Frank Walter, Fort Atkinson; Ben Huey, Decorah; Mr. and Mrs. Jess Langford, Wadena; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Walter, Mrs. Fred Palas and Mrs. Maude Baade, Luana; Mrs. Maude Koth, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Montour and Mrs. Martha Suddendorf, Monona; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Krambeer, Mrs. Cora Krambeer and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Walter, Postville.
