Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Knudson were held Saturday morning May 29, from the home at 10 o'clock and the Norway Lutheran church at 10:30. The Rev. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Knudson died suddenly at her home in St. OlaF Wednesday evening, May 26, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 3 days.
Although not in the best of health, she resumed her usual activities until Tuesday morning when she complained of not feeling well. On Wednesday she was stricken with a heart attack from which she failed to rally.
Louise Tilla Knudson was born August 15, 1877, in Wagner township, Clayton county, Iowa, the youngest child of Christine and Thomas (Torsten) Embretson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church of which she has always been a member. She was a member of the St. Olaf Ladies' Aid.
She was married to Theodore Knudson of St. Olaf on November 22, 1899, who preceded her in death in 1918. They always made their home in St. Olaf with the exception of one year when they lived on a farm in South Dakota. Two children were born to this union, Gladys and Vernon. Vernon died in June 1929.
She is survived by her daughter Gladys (Mrs. Orvin Embretson); two sisters, Mrs. John Christenson and Mrs. Fred Orvis; two brothers, Theodore and Henry Embretson, all of St. Olaf.
Her parents, three brothers, Andrew, Embret and Peter, and one sister, Bertha, preceded her in death. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Floyd Orvis, Vernett and Aden Embretson, Alvin Larson, Elmer Wilke, and Theo. de Buhr.
