Funeral services for Rachel Wold, 26, were held from the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Wold, in Wagner township at 1:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, May 06, to the Norway Lutheran church at 2:00 o'clock. Dr. S. J. Strandjord officiated. Burial was in Norway cemetery.

Miss Wold died at Finley hospital, Dubuque, Monday, May 03, where she had been taken the previous day. She had been in ill health for a number of months and had been confined to her home since December. Her illness had not been considered serious until several weeks ago.

Rachel Yvonne Wold was born on a farm in Wagner township on June 29, 1921, the daughter of Harrison and Gina Gilbertson Wold. She received her education in the rural schools near her home and was graduated from Elkader high school and Junior College. She was employed for a time in the Clayton County AAA office and later went to Great Falls, Mont., where she was a stenographer in a law office. On returning here she accepted a position as secretary in the law office of D. D. Murphy and Son and later in the office of Attorney L. J. Ehrhardt.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Norway Lutheran church, of which she was a member. She taught a Sunday school class for a number of years. She was active in 4-H club work in Wagner township and was a leader of Girl Scouts in Elkader.

She is survived by her parents, a sister Ruth, St. Olaf, and three brothers, Harrison of Ames, Donald and Leigh at home.

Pallbearers were: Norris Reierson, Walter Rugland, Roy William Engelhardt, and her brothers, Harrison, Donald and Leigh.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John M. Wold, Oswego, Mont.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wold and Mrs. Arnold Wold, Rolfe; Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Wold, Mrs. Anna Wold and James, all of St. Ansgar.
