Clayton County Register, 22 Jan. 1948.
Funeral services for Henry Klotzbach, 82, were held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church at Giard. The Rev. Robert Butler officiated. Burial was in the Giard cemetery.
Mr. Klotzbach died at the Postville hospital Tuesday, Jan. 13, following a few days illness of flu.
Born in Giard the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Klotzbach, pioneer residents of that area, he had lived there all his life. For nearly 40 years he served as assessor of Giard township.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Louis Haefner of Bainesville, Mont., and a brother, Will Klotzbach of McGregor, besides a number of nieces and nephews.
