Final rites were held Monday morning at St. Joseph's Catholic church for Mrs. J.W. Hudek, 83, who died last Friday at Zavier hospital in Dubuque.

Rev. L.C. Iekel, pastor of St. Joseph's church officiated at the rites. Pallbearers were Clem Meder, Wilford Masuen, Louis Matt Jr., Herb Masuen, Ed Schmelzer and Charlie Rausch.

Burial was in the Garnavillo city cemetery in charge of the Tueck funeral home.

Cora W. Hudek was born September 4, 1882 in Garnavillo, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hudson. On May 12, 1908 she was married to Dr. J.W. Hudek in Garnavillo. The couple spent their entire married life in the community, where Mrs. Hudek was active in community and church affairs.

Surviving Mrs. Hudek are her husband, Dr. J.W. Hudek, and one daughter, Mrs. Bob Bergman of Waupaca, Wisconsin. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Bruce, Mark and Katherine Ann Berman.
