Clayton County Register, 24 Dec. 1946.

Mrs. James Brink, 53, died at her home five miles south of Volga Thursday morning. She had been ill for some time with a heart ailment.

She was the former Josephine Katherine Refle, daughter of Joseph and Lena Refle and was born in Volga township, Clayton conty, Iowa, on January 20, 1893.

She was married to James Brink on October 01, 1917.

Surviving are her husband, one son Joseph, Strawberry Point, and one daughter, Ruth, of Milwaukee; four brothers, William, Harry and Walter Refle, all of Littleport, and George Refle of Dubuque, two sisters, Sarah Refle, Dubuque, and Mrs. Henry Gileson, Luana.

Services were held Saturday afternoon at the St. Sebald Lutheran church, with the pastor, the Rev. H. H. Hahn officiating.

Burial was in Hill Crest cemetery, Volga City.
