The sudden death of William J. Glennon, 67, occurred Sunday morning at his farm home south of Volga. He was stricken with a severe heart attack while sitting at the breakfast table. Not being previously ill, his death came unexpectedly to the family.
He was the youngest child born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Glennon on May 15, 1879 at Cox Creek, where he grew to manhood.
Following his marriage to Miss Rosa Shea they have since resided on their home farm.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son Cecil Glennon at home and one daughter, Mrs. John (Doris) Wiley of Littleport, two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His parents, six brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Glennon was the last surviving member of his family.
He was a faithful member of the Catholic church, the Holy Name Society and Sacred Heart league.
Services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church. The pastor, the Rev. D. T. Noonan offered the Requiem high mass and also officiated at the graveside in Sacred Heart cemetery, where burial was made.
Casket bearers were: James Bergan, Michael Martin, Fred Orr, Clarence Zapf, Charles Puffett and J. Frank O'Brien.
