Surviving her husband but seven days, Mrs. V.R. Miller passed away at six o'clock Wednesday morning. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia, though the shock of Mr. Miller's death undoubtedly hastened the end. She was the elder of the two by two years, having passed her 88th anniversary in January.
The aged couple had lived a long life of congenial companionship together and it seems fitting that, having reached such an advanced age, their deaths should come so near together.
Mrs. Miller has lived in McGregor almost as many years as her husband. She was the sister of George and John Bass, who came to McGregor soon after Mr. Miller did.
She was married twice, her first husband was C.S. Boynton who operated a book bindery in McGregor, until his death in the late sixties.
After the death of her husband and the death of her sister Marietta, Mr. Miller's first wife, she and Mr. Miller were married.
She is survived by three children; Mrs. O'Brien, wife of Captain O'Brien of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Porter Rich who has lived in California for many years and Oscar Boynton of this city.
The funeral will be held at the residence at two o'clock Friday afternoon.
