Morris, Mary (Lamphier) 1866 - 1946

Mary Morris, daughter of Lyman and Betty Jane Lamphier, was born September 13, 1866 at Volga. She grew to womanhood on the farm of her parents and received her education in the country school. She was united in marriage to Henry Morris of Carthage, S.Dak., and they made their home on a farm at that place.

After a long illness she died on October 23, 1946, at the age of 80 years.

Preceding her in death were her husband and two children, three sisters and three brothers.

Survivors are four brothers, Henry of Arlington; Maurice and Austin of Strawberry Point; and Oscar of Volga.

Funeral services were held at the Gill Chapel at Strawberry Point October 25. The Rev. Park Anderson officiated. Burial was in the Hill Crest cemetery. The casket bearers were six nephews.
