STRAWBERRY POINT: John Alexander Meyer, 79, a deaf mute, died Sunday at his home here. He was the son of Nicholas and Celia Thompson Meyer, born at Strawberry Point, January 29, 1867. He received his education at the Council Bluffs school for the deaf. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. George Davis, and a brother, William Meyer, both of Strawberry Point.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church, conducted by the Rev. J. P. Fagan, assisted by the Rev. F. McEnany of Littleport. Pallbearers were: Malcolm Kramer, Clare Coonfare, Gerald Chettinger, Peter Hanson, Peter Quinn and Fred Staade. Burial was in the Ross cemetery at Cox Creek.
